1. A New Milestone in Supply Chain Connectivity
Crane Worldwide Logistics is set to become one of the first global logistics providers to adopt Amazon Leo’s low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite network, following a newly announced collaboration.
This strategic move positions Crane at the forefront of next-generation connectivity solutions, aimed at enhancing communication resilience across complex global supply chains.
Amazon Leo — Amazon’s ambitious LEO satellite project — is designed to deliver high-speed, low-latency broadband worldwide. The network will include approximately 3,000 satellites, supported by advanced ground infrastructure, offering download speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
With strong stability, low latency, and global reach, the technology is highly suitable for both enterprise applications and remote regions lacking reliable telecommunications infrastructure.
Amazon Leo has partnered with companies across aviation, energy, agriculture, and telecommunications — including JetBlue, Vanu, Hunt Energy Network, Connected Farms, and Crane Worldwide Logistics — to accelerate trials and real-world deployment.

2. Enhancing Logistics Resilience Through Satellite Connectivity
Crane Worldwide Logistics believes the collaboration will significantly strengthen end-to-end supply chain visibility and operational communication.
The company highlights that LEO connectivity enables uninterrupted data exchange even during natural disasters, network failures, or other emergency conditions — a critical advantage for global logistics operations.
Under the agreement, Crane Worldwide Logistics will begin deploying Amazon Leo’s satellite solutions at select facilities starting in 2027.
According to Marc Crudgington, Vice President of IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity at Crane Worldwide:
“Partnering with Amazon Leo represents a major step forward in improving our supply chain resilience. Whether coordinating cargo movements, maintaining communication with partners, or responding to emergency situations, staying reliably connected is essential to operating efficiently.”
Crane will leverage the Amazon Leo Ultra antenna — a high-bandwidth terminal built to support data-intensive activities such as warehouse management, transportation tracking, routing, and critical communications.
3. High-Speed Connectivity for Global Operations
Amazon Leo’s leadership emphasizes the value of LEO satellite networks for logistics enterprises operating across multiple geographies.
Chris Weber, Vice President of Consumer and Enterprise Technologies at Amazon Leo, stated:
“With a satellite-linked network like Amazon Leo, companies such as Crane can maintain high-speed, reliable connectivity across offices, warehouses, and international checkpoints — even if conventional ground networks experience outages.”
This level of connectivity ensures consistent operational oversight, improves response times during disruptions, and supports the increasingly digital nature of supply chain management.
